The Tun Legacy Foundation

2023-present

This organization is rebuilding the Philadelphia birthplace of the United States Marine Corps, Pennsylvania Freemasonry, United States Navy, the St. Andrews Society, Society of St. George, and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick.  Brad serves on the Board of Directors and is Chair of the East Coast Fundraising Committee.


Caring for Friends

2022-2023

This food bank, the third largest in Greater Philadelphia, provides pre-cooked meals to homebound seniors, fresh produce and frozen meat to 200 agency partners, and sandwiches and snacks to the homeless, comprising over 12 mm pounds in FY2021.  Brad served as Chief Operating Officer, improving efficiency through inventory tracking, centralized purchasing, and reducing and redirecting food waste.


Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

1997 – 2021

This organization awards over $10 mm in scholarships annually to children of Marines.  Brad served in the following roles:  member of the Board of Directors from 2004-2009 (Audit and Investment Committees), Interim CEO in 2008, and Philadelphia Committee Chair and Co-chair in 2001 and 2016-2021.  Notable achievements include securing numerous donations, including many of at least $100 k, totaling over $2 mm.


People for People, Inc.

2002 – 2014

This organization, founded by the late Rev. Herb Lusk, attacks poverty in North Philadelphia through welfare-to-work training, charter school, and other programs.  Brad served on the Board of Directors, providing expertise in board governance and real estate.


Boy Scouts of America, Merion Liberty Troop

2008 – 2020

Brad served as an adult leader, including service as Chartered Organization Representative, 2010-2016.  He was an active member of Troop Committee, planning and leading camping trips, including Philmont and SeaBase high adventure camps.  He is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, and both of his sons achieved Eagle Scout rank.


Octavia Hill Association, Inc.

2007 – 2008

This century-old, closely-held developer of low-income housing was referred to by its Chairman as a “low-profit,” as opposed to “nonprofit” organization.  Brad served as Chief Executive Officer, increasing leasing through a bonus system, website redesign, and online marketing campaign.  He reduced evictions, bad debt, and tenant receivables to less than half of previous 3-year average.  He also reduced the average unit refit time by two-thirds using in-house staff.


Various Veterans’ Organizations

Brad is a member of several veterans’ organizations and has helped scores of veterans with their transition into the business world, as well as upgrading their post-transition careers.  He was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a “Veteran of Influence” in 2018.
